The New Soldering Iron Kit 169.010 from Leister for TRIAC AT
Aimed at roofers, plumbers and tinsmiths who need a safe, flame free alternative to soft soldering of leadwork, copper, chromium steel and zinc. The new soldering iron kit provides a clean, durable and temperature-accurate way of working, without the hazards of overheating lead or zinc.
The kit is made up of a soldering iron adapter (169.011) that fits on the end of a TRIAC AT, a tool stand (169.176), a long life chisel shaped tempered copper soldering tip (169.168) and a long life customisable tempered copper soldering tip (169.169) - all also available individually.
When partnered with the Leister TRIAC AT, the soldering iron kit provides extremely accurate temperature control as the TRIAC AT has a closed loop design capable of maintaining the set temperature under challenging conditions (e.g. high wind, rain and cold etc)
Most common metal soldering temperature:
- Copper: 470⁰- 520⁰ Celsius* → with medium air flow
- Zinc: 400⁰- 450⁰ Celsius* → with low air flow
- Chromium steel: 290⁰- 400⁰ Celsius* → with air flow level 2-3
- Lead stripe: Around 350⁰ Celsius*→ with air flow medium

The soldering kit coupled with the TRIAC AT provices an extremely stable temperature with its close loop technology. This helps when there are high winds, rain or cold weather.
In addition the ability to control the temperature so precisely means there is less chance of burning the metal e.g. lead, which would cause either deformation, perforation or toxic fumes in the case of zinc and lead.
Enviromentally Friendly
With more restrictions coming into force to reduce carbon emmissions, the soldering kit from Leister provides an eco friendly alternative to the use of propane gas.

As the soldering kit is an addition to the TRIAC AT you effectively have one tool that can carry out roof membrane welding and, with a quick change like changing a nozzle, you have a tool that can solder leadwork, copper and zinc etc.

Delivery Exceptions and Exclusions
Unfortunately there are a few areas where next working day delivery isn't possible because of their remote location. However we always try to delivery to these areas within 2 working days. In certain circumstances items can sometimes take more than 7 days due to limited courier availability and weather conditions in these areas.

Where restricted postcodes are on the Mainland delivery will be:
£4.50 +VAT for items up to and including £100 (ex VAT)
£7.50 +VAT for items over £100 (ex VAT)
A minimum of two working days applies to orders with Mainland restricted postcodes placed online before 3pm.
For restricted postcodes that are not on the Mainland delivery will be:
£14.50 +VAT for all items
